The Governor appointed this study group and research staff in
1961 at the request of the General Assembly. The Commission is
composed of leaders in the business and the commercial life of the
State to investigate the feasibility of the adoption o-C the Uniform
Commercial Code by Maryland and to report to the General As-
sembly at its 1963 Session (J. R. No. 19, Acts of 1961).

At the request of the General Assembly of 1959, the Governor ap-
pointed this special commission to study the need for amending or
revising the general insurance laws of the State. It is to report to
the Legislative Council in 1961 and to the General Assembly of 1962
(J. R. No. 31, Acts of 1959; J. R. No. 7, 1960).

The Governor appointed this Commission in 1961 at the request
of the General Assembly to investigate and study the practices of
the home improvement industry in Maryland, and its financing.
The Commission is to report its findings to the Governor and to the
General Assembly before the 1962 Session of the Legislature, to-
gether with any recommendations which may remedy or alleviate
conditions it may discover which are detrimental to the public in-
terest. (House Resolution No. 36, 1961).
