COMMISSION TO REEXAMINE PUBLIC SCHOOL FINANCING

At the request of the General Assembly, the Governor appointed
this Commission in 1960 to restudy and reevaluate the philosophy and
practice of the finances of the public school system. The resolution
requested that the Governor and the Legislative Council each appoint
an equal number of the members of the Commission and that the Com-
mission report to the Governor and the Legislative Council not later
than October 1, 1960 (J. R. No. 16, Acts of 1960).

At the request of the General Assembly, the Governor appointed this
Commission in 1960 to study the advisability and necessity for the
establishment of a State Department of Agriculture in Maryland. The
Commission completed its work with the enactment of Chapter 470,
Acts of 1961 (J. R. No. 6, Acts of 1960).
