128. They may impose a fine of one dollar on any person who
may discharge a gun or other firearms in the said town on any
day except on days when the militia may be mustered or
paraded therein; and the like fine upon all persons who may
suffer their chimneys or any of them to flame out; or upon any
person driving, training or riding any horse at an immoderate
gait through the streets.

129. They may impose reasonable fines on all persons permit-
ting their swine, goats, or geese to run at large in said .town.

130. They may establish and regulate fire wards and fire
companies in said town, and enact all such ordinances as they
deem necessary for the prevention and extinguishment of fire,
and to compel property holders in said town. to furnish them-
selves with fire buckets.

131'. They may levy annually upon the taxable property of
said town, at the same time as other taxes, a sum not exceeding
one hundred dollars to be expended under their direction in
keeping the engine and hose, and other apparatus attached
thereto, in good repair.

132. They may provide by ordinance for taking up, fining or
committing to the work-house in said town all vagrant, loose and
disorderly persons, lewd women, keepers of bawdy houses, and
persons having no visible means of support, and common dis-
turbers of a neighborhood, that may be found within the limits
of the town, and to make it the duty of the keeper or overseer
of said work-house to receive and safe keep all persons who shall
be 'committed according to the tenor of such commitment; but
no fine imposed under this section shall exceed the sum of
twenty dollars, nor shall any person be committed to said
work-house for a longer time than thirty days for any one
offence.

183. They may appoint a wood corder or wood corders and a
weigher of hay, and allow to each such compensation as they
may deem reasonable.

134. They may lay and collect such tax as they may think
proper upon all players and showmen exhibiting within the
town.
