842 TALBOT COUNTY. [ART. 20.

said terms equity process shall be returnable as well as to the
stated terms of the Circuit Court.

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

27. There shall be three county commissioners for Talbot
county, who shall each be entitled to receive two dollars and
fifty cents a day for every day he shall necessarily attend to the
duties of his office, and mileage at the rate of five cents per mile
for every mile he shall have necessarily travelled from his resi-
dence to the county town.

28. The said commissioners shall appoint a clerk, who shall
receive such compensation as they shall think proper to allow,
not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars per annum.

29. The said clerk shall take an oath as other officers, and
shall execute a bond to the State of Maryland, with such security
as the said county commissioners shall approve, in the penalty
of one thousand dollars, conditioned for the true and faithful
performance of his duty, which shall be recorded in the office
of the clerk of the Circuit Court for said county.

EASTON.

30. The inhabitants of the town of Easton in Talbot county
are a body politic by the name of " The Commissioners of
Easton," and by that name may sue and be sued, and may
have and use a common seal, and alter and break the same at
pleasure.

31. The boundaries of said town shall be as described on the
plats thereof on record in the office of the clerk of the Circuit
Court for Talbot county.

32. The number of said commissioners shall be nine, and the
three eldest in time of service shall go out of office on the third
Monday in March in each year.

38. The free white male inhabitants of Easton above the age
of twenty-one years who have resided in said town for one year
next preceding the election, and all male persons of the age
aforesaid not residents of said town who have a freehold estate
or leasehold property for a term exceeding twenty-one years
