806 SOMERSET COUNTY. [ART. 19.

47*. The following shall be the boundaries of Tangier district,
or election district number fifteen, and Dame's Quarter district,
or election district number four. Beginning at the north-east
side of the mouth of the creek commonly called Rock Creek,
and thence running southwardly until it intersects in a straight
line another creek commonly called Fishing Creek, all that
portion lying west of said line and included in what was formerly
called " Dame's Quarter" district, to constitute Tangier district, or
election district number fifteen, and all lying east of said line to
constitute Dame's Quarter district number four, as heretofore.

48. The -return judges of election in said county shall, in
addition to their per diem, be entitled to six and a quarter cents
a mile for every mile their places of residence shall be distant
from the county town, to be allowed them both for going and
returning.

OrriCEBS' FEES.

49. The fees of officers in Somerset county may be sent out
for collection b.etween the first day of January and the fifteenth
day of July in each year, and the sheriff of said county shall be
allowed until the first day of January then next ensuing to
account for and pay over said fees.

FENCES.

50. The partition fences between the adjoining fields of different
proprietors now existing, or which may hereafter be established
by mutual consent in said county, shall be made and repaired by
the parties respectively owning or occupying the fields at their
joint and equal expense.

51. Upon failure of a party to make or repair and keep in good
order his proportion of such fence, or to pay his equal share of
the cost thereof, he shall be answerable therefor in an action of
debt before a justice of the peace.

52. The person desiring such partition fence to be repaired
shall give at least thirty days' notice to the owner of the adjoin-
ing land and joint owner of the fence, of such repair being
necessary, and of his intention to proceed to make the same, and
if the said joint owner shall not before the expiration of the
thirty days repair the same, he may repair and construct the
same out of the usual materials and in the ordinary way, and the
