780 ST. MARY'S COUNTY. [ART. 18.

30. The judge of the Circuit Court for said county may, in his
discretion, appoint intermediate terms between the aforesaid
terms for the transaction of equity or other business not re-
quiring a jury, to which terms process may be made returnable.

COHECTOB.

31. The county commissioners of said county may allow the
collector of the tax for said county a per Centum on the amount
to be collected at the rate of not less than five nor more than
ten per centum; the whole amount of his commission shall not
exceed the Sum of eight hundred dollars in any one year.

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

32. There shall be five county commissioners for St. Mary's
county.

33. Each commissioner shall be entitled to two dollars per day
for every day he shall necessarily'attend to the duties of his
office, and mileage at the rate of five cents a mile on all distances,
not exceeding twenty miles, from his residence to the county
town, computed by the shortest public road.

34. They shall, at their first meeting after each election, deter-
mine the amount of mileage each commissioner shall be entitled
to receive, and shall levy the same accordingly.

ELECTIONS.

35. St. Mary's county is divided into six election districts,
according to their present bounds and limits, and all elections
for public officers shall be held, in each of said districts, at the
place now established for that purpose.

JURORS.

36. Each juror summoned to attend the Circuit Court for
St. Mary's county, shall receive two dollars a day for each
day's attendance.
