125*. The commissioners of the school fund shall hold their
meetings twice a year, in Centreville, that is, on the first Tuesday
in July and January, to appropriate all moneys which may come
into the hands of the treasurer equally among the primary school
districts of said county, including the Centreville district, and
the said treasurer shall pay the same to the trustees of the
primary school districts and of Centreville Academy, upon the
order of any two of said commissioners. They may adjourn
their meetings from time to time as they may think proper, and
shall be entitled to two dollars per day for every day they may
attend.

126. It shall be the duty of the board of examiners to ascer-
tain and inform themselves of the qualification of all persons who
offer themselves as teachers, and if satisfied of the sufficiency of
such qualification, they shall deliver to the applicant the follow-
ing certificate: "We, the undersigned, board of examiners for
Queen Anne's county, certify that we have examined --, and
believe that he is of good moral character and of sufficient learn-
ing and ability, and in other respects well qualified to teach the
usual branches of a good English education. Given under our
bands at --, the -- day of --. --, Board of Examiners."

127. The board of examiners shall be entitled to receive as a
compensation two dollars for each applicant to whom they shall
grant a certificate, to be paid by the applicant at the time of
receiving the same.

128. The trustees of any school district shall be able to hold
any property which may be vested in them for the use and benefit
of their school; and such property, whether real or personal,
shall be to them and their successors in office in the same manner
as if they were a body corporate.

129. They shall purchase sites for school houses, build, keep
in repair, and furnish the same with fuel, books, stationery and
appendages.

ISO*. The taxable inhabitants of each district, at their annual
meeting for the election of trustees, shall have power to levy a
tax for the purchase of sites and building school houses,

181*. The taxables of any school district, when assembled to
elect trustees, may vote such a tax upon the assessable property
