119*. Vacancies in the said board of trustees, which from any
cause shall occur during the year, shall be filled by the taxable
inhabitants at special meetings called as provided in the preceding
section.
120*. The commissioners of the school fund shall annually ap-
point three sensible and discreet men to constitute a board of
examiners, whose duty it shall be to examine all persons who
may offer themselves as candidates for teachers of primary
schools.
121. They shall appoint, annually, a treasurer of the school
fund of said county, whose duty it shall be to take charge of all
moneys derived from the State or from said county for the use
of the primary schools of said county, and the same to keep and
pay over to the order of any two or more of said commis-
sioners.
122. The said treasurer, before receiving any of said funds,
shall annually give bond to the State of Maryland, with such
security and in such sum as they shall direct, for the faithful
discharge of the duties of said office, which bond shall be liable,
at the suit of the State of Maryland for the use of said com-
missioners, for all breaches of the condition thereof.
123. They may allow said treasurer such compensation as they
think proper.
124*. The county commissioners of Queen Anne's county shall
annually levy such sums of money as will give to each primary
school district in said county and the Centreville district the net
and clear sum of three hundred dollars, to be ascertained and
prescribed by the commissioners of the school fund, and shall, if
authorized by the taxable inhabitants of school district number
four, or any other district in the county, levy such additional
sum on the said district for the use thereof as a majority of the
taxable inhabitants present at the annual meeting may require,
not to exceed two hundred dollars per annum, and the said sums
so levied shall be collected and paid to the treasurer of the school
fund, and the collector of said county shall collect and pay the
same to the treasurer of the school fund, and shall be allowed
the same percentage as for the collection of county taxes, and
his official bond shall be liable therefor.
