CLERK.
42. The clerk of the Circuit Court for said county shall be
entitled to an annual allowance from the county commissioners
of said county sufficient to supply his office with fuel.
COLLECTORS.
43. Collectors of county taxes in Prince George.'s county flhall
have power to sell real estate for the payment of county taxes
in the same manner, and to the same extent, as for the payment
of State taxes.
44. The said collectors may, after having given sixty days'
notice by public advertisement, set up at the court-house door of
the county and four other of the most public places of the county,
and published in some newspaper printed in the District of Co-
lumbia, of the time and place of sale, sell at public sale a suffi-
cient quantity of timber in one parcel growing on the same acre
or contiguous acres of land, suitable for cord wood or fence rails,
to pay all taxes due on lands in said county belonging to persons
who do not reside therein.
45. The collector in making such sale shall, at the time of
sale, give a certificate to the purchaser of such timber, stating
the quantity and quality of the timber so sold, and shall also
make a return thereof to the county commissioners at their
next meeting to be recorded among their proceedings.
46. Any person purchasing timber sold by a collector under
the provisions of section 44 of this article, may at any time
within twelve months from the day of sale, enter upon the
lands upon which the timber has been sold and cut down, and
carry away the quantity of timber purchased by him; but,
before so doing, the said purchaser shall give to the said col-
lector ten days' notice of the time of his intending to do so,
and the collector or his deputy shall attend at the time ap-
pointed, and demand from the purchaser a receipt for the
amount of timber purchased, cut and carried away.
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
47. There shall be five county commissioners for Prince
George's county.
