register, of the number of pupils in St. John's benevolent school,
together with the amount of money paid for their education, and
make an estimate of the probable expenses which may be
incurred therein for the next ensuing year.

809. St. John's benevolent school, in said city, shall be entitled
to one-half of the portion of the school fund of the county
apportioned to the city of Frederick; and the apportionment to
said city shall be based upon the relative population of the said
city to the whole county; and the superintendents of free
schools, in making an estimate of the amount to be paid by
them, under the preceding section, for the use of St. John's
benevolent school, shall include the sum to which the said school
is entitled under this section.

SHERIFF.

310. The sheriff of Frederick county shall be entitled to
twenty-five cents per day for boarding each prisoner committed
to the county jail.

311. He shall, when under the judgment of the Circuit Court he
shall be ordered to sell any negro beyond the limits of the State
of Maryland, be entitled to retain, out of the proceeds of the sale,
ten dollars as a compensation for all services, &c., rendered.

312. The sheriff of Frederick county shall execute the sen-
tence of death upon any convict, upon the receipt of the death
warrant from the Governor, at the time fixed in said warrant,
in the enclosed yard of the jail of said county, in the presence of
not less than twenty persons, whom the sheriff may summon to
be present at such execution; and, on failure so to do, he shall
forfeit the sum of three hundred dollars, for the use of the
inspectors of primary schools in said county.

SWINE AND GEESE.

818. No geeae or swine, belonging to any inhabitant of
Creagerstown, in Frederick county, shall be suffered to go at
large in said town; and if any person shall find any geese or
swine going at large in said town, he may kill the same.

814. Any person may kill any swine or poultry going at large
in the town of New Market, in said county.
