259. He shall be treasurer of the corporation, and shall give
bond to the corporation, with security approved by the commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, in such penalty as they shall pre-
scribe, conditioned for the faithful performance of his duty as
treasurer, and he shall receive and pay away all moneys that he
shall be directed to receive and pay away by the ordinances of
the corporation.
260. He shall report annually to the commissioners, during the
first two days of their session, the general state of the town, with
an accurate account of the money received and expended, to be
published for the information of the citizens,
261. All fines and forfeitures, under the ordinances of said cor-
poration, shall be recoverable before the burgess, in the name of
the burgess and commissioners of the Point of Rocks, as small
debts are, and he shall be entitled to the same fees as a justice
of the peace for similar services.
262. No fine or forfeiture under any ordinance of said corpo-
ration shall exceed the sum of twenty dollars for any one offence,
and all fines and forfeitures imposed by ordinance shall be for the
use of said corporation.
263. The sheriff of Frederick- county shall receive, and safe
keep in the jail of said county, all persons committed to jail by
the burgess of said town or any justice of the peace, for a vio-
lation of any of the ordinances of said corporation, or for non-
payment of any fine or forfeiture, according to the tenor of said
commitment, until discharged in due course of law or by payment
of the fine, forfeiture and costs.
264. The aaid corporation shall not issue any note, token, scrip
or device to be used as currency.
ROADS,
265. The supervisors of roads in Frederick county shall remove
Bach snow drifts aa may render the roads impassable for several
days.
266. They shall erect and keep up at the expense of the county
at all public cross-roads, and where public roads fork, indexes
or finger boards pointing to the nearest town, mill or other public
