470 CECIL COUNTY. [ART. 5.

board shall determine the manner in which pupils shall be ad-
mitted, and shall prescribe the course of instruction.

204. It shall be the duty of the board of school commissioners
of Cecil county to publish annually a full and complete statement
of the condition of the schools under their charge, the salaries of
teachers, number of pupils of each school and school district, coat
of books and stationery, with general and particular expenses of
the system, and such other matters as may be of public interest
in connection with said schools.

205. The members of the board of public schools of Cecil
county, shall receive as compensation for their services not more'
than two dollars a day for every day that they may be occupied
in attending the meetings of the board, and the same compensa-
tion shall be allowed to committees of the board when in attend-
ance upon such duties as the board may assign them.

206. The county commissioners of Cecil county shall have
power, whenever in their discretion they shall deem it proper,
to appoint one sensible and discreet person in each election dis-
trict of Cecil county, who shall constitute a board for the purpose
of dividing the county into school districts, and said board shall
make such division without reference to the boundaries of elec-
tion districts, and shall report said division to the commissioners
of public schools of Cecil county as soon as practicable, who shall
have power to alter or change any lines for good and sufficient
reasons, and after said division shall have been confirmed by
said board, the plat shall be recorded in a book to be kept for
that purpose.

207. The present school fund of Cecil county, and all other
funds which may be by any law of this State applicable to pur-
poses of education in said county, except the funds appropriated
to the Etkton and West Nottingham academies, shall be paid
directly to the treasurer of the board of commissioners of public
schools, and the balance •necessary for the support of the schools
shall be annually estimated and determined by said board of
commissioners of public schools, who shall report the same to
the county commissioners, who shall levy annually the sum so
estimated and reported upon the assessable property of Cecil
county, to be collected in the same manner as other taxes; and
the said school tax when collected shall be paid over to the trea-
