attend and act, and for making returns of the said elections, the
sum of two dollars per day.
FLOUR INSPECTOR AND WOOD CORDER AT WESTMINSTER.
16. The Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate,
shall appoint in Westminster in Carroll county, an inspector of
flour, whose duty it shall be to inspect all flour offered for sale
within the. limits of the town of Westminster, in the same
manner, and subject to the same rules and regulations in every
respect, as are prescribed for the inspection of flour in the city
of Baltimore, and the said inspector shall be entitled to demand
and receive six and a quarter cents for each barrel of flour which
shall be inspected by him, from the seller thereof.
17. It shall be the duty of the Governor biennially to appoint,
•with the advice and consent of the Senate, a wood corder for the
town of Westminster, whose duty it shall be to measure and
inspect all firewood offered for sale in said town of Westminster,
in the same manner, and subject to the same rules and regulations
in every respect, as are prescribed for the inspection and cording
of wood in the city of Baltimore, and the said wood corder shall
be entitled to demand and receive six and a quarter cents for
each cord of wood inspected by him, from the seller thereof.
JURORS.
18. The per diem of each juror and talesman in Oarroll county
shall be one dollar and fifty cents for each day he shall attend
court; he shall also receive twelve and a half cents per mile for
every mile over five miles he shall travel to and from his resi-
dence.
19. The county commissioners of Carroll county shall annually
levy such sum of money as they may deem sufficient to pay the
expenses which may be annually incurred by the attendance of
jurymen at the Circuit Court.
20. The county commissioners shall pay to the jurymen and
talesmen of said county, immediately after the termination of
each court, such sum of money as they shall severally appear to
be entitled to, by the certificate of the clerk of the Circuit Court
for attendance and mileage as aforesaid.
