COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
9. There shall be three county commissioners for Carroll county.
10. Each county commissioner shall receive an allowance of
two dollars per day, flpr each day he shall be present during the
sessions of the commissioners, and five cents per mile for every
mile he shall travel coming from his place of residence to the
city of Westminster and returning; but such mileage shall not
be allowed more than once in any one week.
11. They may appoint their clerk, and allow him such com-
pensation as they may think proper, not exceeding three hun-
dred dollars per annum.
12. The said clerk shall before entering upon the duties of
his office, take and subscribe, before one of the commissioners,
the following oath: "I, A. B., do swear, that as clerk to the
county commissioners for Garroll county, I will honestly and
faithfully, to the best of my skill and judgment, execute the
duties of the said office, without affection or prejudice, so help
me God."
13. The clerk of the Circuit Court for Carroll county shall
annually on or before the first day of March, furnish the county
commissioners all copies of such lists, accounts, papers and docu-
ments as may be useful and necessary in ascertaining the county
charges, and according to the directions he may from time to
time receive from the commissioners, for which he shall receive
such fees as are allowed by law, for like services, and in case of
refusal and neglect to do so, he shall forfeit to the commissioners,
for the use of the county, for every such neglect or refusal, the
sum of one hundred dollars, to be recovered by indictment in
the Circuit Court.
ELECTIONS.
14. Carroll county is divided into eleven election districts,
according to their present bounds and limits, and elections for
public officers shall be held in each of said districts at the place
heretofore established by law for that purpose.
15. Judges and clerks of elections.in Carroll county shall each
be allowed for -every election at which they shall respectively
