Such sum as the commanding officer of the division shall require,
conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of collector
of fines of said division.

700. It shall be the duty of all officers to whom returns are
made by any courts, within ten days after receiving lists of fines
from courts of appeal, or, from courts martial, to place copies
thereof in the hands of the said division collector, and to take
his receipt for the said list, or a duplicate of the same, and if
any officer shall neglect or refuse to comply with any of the
provisions of this or the preceding section, he shall be fined a
sum not exceeding fifty dollars, in the discretion of such court
martial as the case may require.

701. There shall, upon the recommendation of the major
generals respectively, be commissioned in each division a division
paymaster, with the rank of major, who, before he enters upon
the duties of his office, shall give bond with security to the State
of Maryland, in such sum as the commanding officer of the divi-
sion shall require, for the faithful performance of his duties as
paymaster, that is to say, for the safe keeping of all moneys paid
into his hands by the. collector, and for the keeping and return-
ing a true and just account of the same to the commanding
officer of the division when thereunto required, and for the pay-
ing over the whole or such parts of said moneys as may be drawn
for by him. for repairs of arms, expenses of music, and other inci-
dental expenses, and for paying over any surplus or balance in
his hands, when thereunto required by the commanding officers
of the said divisions, acting as a board as herein provided.

702. The collector shall collect all fines placed in his hands,
and shall account for the moneys collected by him and pay over
the same when thereunto required to the division paymaster,
subject to such deductions for commissions and under such other
regulations as may have been established by the commanding
officer of the division.

703. The paymasters shall be allowed such commissions and
shall conform to such regulations as may be established by the
commanding officer of the division.

704. If any officer shall neglect or refuse to comply with the
provisions of the two preceding sections as required of him, he
