duties in their respective districts.

886. He shall, if upon a careful and impartial examination he
shall be satisfied that either of the said assistant inspectors
wilfully or through ignorance has put upon any cask of flour a
brand designating a lighter or inferior degree of fineness than
according to the true quality of such flour ought to be put
thereon, suspend the said assistant inspector from his office, and
lay a statement in writing of the grounds of such suspension,
with an affidavit of the truth thereof, before the Governor, and
the Governor shall continue such suspension or reinstate the
assistant inspector, as the circumstances of the case may in his
judgment require.

887. The mayor of the said city shall appoint a deputy to per-
form the duties of any suspended assistant inspector, if necessary,
during such suspension, who shall receive the compensation to
which the suspended assistant inspector would be entitled if
not suspended.

388. It shall be the duty of each assistant inspector promptly
to obey any notice he may receive of his presence being required
in any place or places in the inspection district of the city to
which he shall belong for the time being; and if he refuse or
neglect to obey such notice for a longer time than two hours
after it has been given, he shall forfeit and pay the sum of three
dollars.

889. The drawings which the inspectors shall take from the
casks inspected by them shall, as soon as conveniently may be
thereafter, be deposited in some suitable place in said city to be
designated by the general inspector, and shall be sold by the
said general inspector in such manner and at such times as he
shall think most advantageous.

840. The assistant inspectors shall at the end of every month
render to the general inspector an account under oath, and pay
over to him all moneys received by them for their services as
inspectors, or for charges of inspecting; and the said general in-
spector shall monthly divide, in equal portions, among the said
inspectors and himself, the amounts so received by him, and also
the proceeds of the sales of the drawings directed to be sold by
him under the last preceding section.
