by suit in the name of the State in the Criminal Court of Balti-
more, and if under one' hundred dollars, before a justice of the
peace, one-half to the informer and the other half to the use of
the State.

FlOUB.

830. The Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the
Senate, shall biennially appoint one general inspector and four
assistant inspectors of flour for the city of Baltimore.

831. Each inspector so appointed shall enter into bond to the
State of Maryland, with good and sufficient securities to be
approved by the Governor, in the penal sum of ten thousand
dollars, conditioned for the true and faithful discharge of his
duties as inspector.

332. The general inspector, upon consultation with the other
inspectors and two commissioners of review to be designated for
that purpose by the mayor, shall fix a standard of flour of each
degree of fineness for the regulation of the inspection thereof in
said city, which standard shall not be inferior in quality to flour
of the best brands of any other inspection in the -United States,
and the said standard shall be renewed semi-annually.

333. The general inspector shall keep a public office in some
convenient place in said city, and shall procure samples which
shall be quarterly renewed, of the most approved brands of
flour of the inspection of other places, and shall keep said
samples and the standard fixed as directed in the preceding
section at the said office, subject at all times in the presence of
the said general inspector to the examination of the citizens of
this .State, or other persons concerned in the purchase or sale of

flour therein.

334. He shall diligently superintend the assistant inspectors
at the places where they shall be employed in the discharge of
their official duties, and by a frequent comparison of the flour
which they shall inspect with the standard, shall ascertain
whether they and each of them regulate the inspection con-
formably to said standard.

335. He shall annually, on the thirtieth day of November,
report to the Governor the conduct of the different assistant
inspectors, both as to their observance of the established stand-
