for each offence the sum of one hundred dollars, to be recovered
in the name of the State before a justice of the peace as other
small debts are recovered, one-half to the informer and the other
half to the use of the State.

324. All wharves and places of landing in the said city which
are or may be owned by the mayor and city council, are de-
clared to be public- wharves, within the meaning of the last
preceding and next succeeding section of this article.

325. It shall not be lawful for the corporation of the city of
Baltimore to establish any higher rate of wharfage for barrels
of salted fish than for barrels containing any other salted pro-
visions.

326. No inspector shall purchase, directly or indirectly,' any
salted fish by them or either of them condemned, or any other
fish whatever other than for his family use; nor shall they or
either of them, directly or indirectly, be concerned in making,
rendering or furnishing any cask or casks, for the purpose of
packing, re-packing or curing any fish brought to, packed in or
exported from the city or port of Baltimore; nor shall they or
either of them, be concerned in the cooperage of any cask con-
taining fish that may be inspected in said city, nor shall they or
either of them, vend or furnish any salt for the curing or salting
any fish that shall be inspected in said city, under the penalty
of forfeiting and paying for every offence five dollars.

827. When any fish are condemned in said city, the owner or
owners thereof or 'their agent shall have the same removed
beyond -the limits of said city, within twenty-four hours there-
after, under the penalty of forfeiting and paying for each. con-
demned barrel or half barrel of fish the sum of five dollars, to
be recovered by warrant before a justice of the peace, one-half
. to the informer and the other half to the use of the State.

328. If any inspector shall charge or receive any greater fee
or reward for inspecting than is allowed by this article, he shall
forfeit and pay the sum of fifty dollars, to be adjudged on indict-
ment and conviction in the Criminal Court of Baltimore, one-
half to the informer and the other half to the use of the State.

329. All fines and forfeitures herein imposed, except as herein-
before provided, if over one hundred dollars, shall be recoverable
