14 ALLEGANY COUNTY. [ART. 1.

10. There shall be two chancery terms of said Court, com-
mencing on the second Monday of January and the second Mon-
day of July respectively, and all chancery process shall be re-
turnable to the common law as well as the chancery terms.

11. The trial terms of said Court shall be the term next
succeeding the term to which the original process shall be re-
turnable.

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

12. There shall be five county commissioners for Allegany
county.

13. They shall meet on the first Monday in January, April,
July and October, and may call special meetings when they, or
a majority of them, may think proper.

14. They may classify the business of the court, and designate
the meetings at which the several classes of business will be dis-
posed of.

15. They shall be entitled to three dollars a day for each day
they shall be in session, and six cents per mile for going to and
returning from each meeting, if they reside out of Cumberland,
but such mileage shall not be allowed more than once for a session
of two or more consecutive days.

16. The clerk to the county commissioners shall give bond to
the State of Maryland, in the penalty of one thousand dollars,
approved by said commissioners, conditioned for the faithful per-
formance of the duties of his office; which bond shall bo recorded
in the office of the clerk of the Circuit Court for said county.

17. The .said clerk shall also, before one of said -commissioners,
take and subscribe the following oath: " I, A. B., do swear that
as clerk to the county commissioners of Allegany county, I will
honestly and faithfully, to the best of my skill and judgment,
execute the duties of said office, without favor, affection, preju-
dice or partiality, so help me God."

18. He shall be entitled to such compensation as shall be
fixed by the county commissioners, not exceeding three hundred
dollars.
