124 BALTIMORE COUNTT. [ART. 3.

167. They shall appoint a treasurer, who shall also act as secre-
tary to the board, and who shall give bond to the State of Mary-
land, with at least two securities to be approved by them, in the
penal sum of ten thousand dollars, with condition that he will
faithfully perform the duties of treasurer of the school commis-
sioners df said county, and pay over and apply all moneys that
shall come to his hands or care as treasurer, to such persons and
in such manner as the school commissioners shall direct, and that
he will keep and enter a full and fair account of all moneys re-
ceived and paid by him, and of all matters relating to his duties
and office, and preserve the same, and all the vouchers relating
thereto, and deliver up all the books and vouchers relating to his
office, whenever they are required by the school commissioners,
to such persons as they shall appoint to receive the same.

168. The said treasurer shall be elected annually at such time
as the said school commissioners shall in their by-laws or consti-
tution provide, and shall receive such compensation aa they may
from. time to time determine, not exceeding six hundred dollars
per annum.

169. The treasurer of Baltimore county shall pay to the order
of the school commissioners, properly attested by the signature
of the president and secretary of said corporation, on the first
Wednesday of each month, on account of the general school tax
authorized by this article to be levied in said county, the amount
to which the public schools in said county ate entitled.

170. The treasurer of Baltimore county shall keep a separate
account of all moneys received from taxes levied on account of
and for the use and support of public schools of said county,
and of all moneys paid out on account of said schools, and to
whom paid.

171. No money received from taxes levied or other sources for
the ase of the public schools of said county, shall be used or
applied to any other purpose whatever. •

172. All bequests in aid of the school fund of Baltimore county,
.and. all the real and personal estate of intestates payable thereto,
all State donations, fines, penalties, forfeitures and dividends pay-
able thereto, shall be paid to the order of the school commis-
sioners, properly attested by the signature of the president and
secretary.
