of days each of said judges and bailiffs has attended said court
during the quarter, and the treasurer shall pay them accordingly.
QUARRIES.
144. The proprietors of all quarries on either side of the
Falls turnpike road, between the second mile-atone on said
road and the city of Baltimore, shall cause notice to be given
by means of a bell of such size and sound as may be heard at
the distance of six hundred yards, of each explosion or blast,
at least five minutes before any such explosion or blast shall be
made.
145. The proprietor (or tenant, in case of lease) of the quarry
wherein any neglect to comply with the provisions and directions
of the foregoing section shall occur, shall, for each violation or
neglect, be subject to a fine of ten dollars, to be recovered, by
warrant, before any justice of the peace for said county, for the
use of the informer.
BEGHSTEB or WILLS.
146. The register of wills for Baltimore county shall keep a
general alphabet or index to the records of the wills, and of
such other matters recorded in said office, as the public conve-
nience may require, and shall be entitled to demand and receive
from the party for whom the service is performed ten cents for
each will or other matter entered therein.
147. A certificate, under the hand and seal of the register
of wills for said county, that it appears by the records in his
office that letters testamentary, or of administration, or of col-
lection, have been granted, shall be as good and available in any
case whatever and to all intents and purposes as the original let-
ters testamentary, or of administration, or of collection, .duly
granted, would bo, if exhibited.
148. He may make searches of and take office copies from the
books of records, dockets and minutes of proceedings of the
late Orphans' Court for Baltimore county, in all cases where
the same are required in relation to estates where the deceased
was, at the time of his death, a resident of Baltimore county,
without the city of Baltimore, and may receive the usual fees
therefor.
