amount than the balance which may be found necessary after
such deduction; and the said ground rent fund shall, under no
circumstances, be applied to any other object.
COUNTY TREASURER AND CLERK TO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
78. The legal voters of Baltimore county shall at each general
election held in said county, elect by ballot a treasurer for said
County, who shall also be clerk to the county commissioners.
- 79. The person so elected shall, before he enters upon the
duties of his office, take an oath in due form of law faithfully to
perform the duties of his office.
80. He shall also execute and deliver to the county commis-
sioners a good and sufficient bond, to be approved by them, in
the penal sum of twenty thousand dollars for the faithful per-
formance of his duty as treasurer.
81. In default of the treasurer so elected to execute said bond,
he shall forfeit his office, and the county commissioners shall
declare the said office vacant, and shall proceed to fill the same
by the appointment of a suitable person for the remainder of the
term for which he shall have been elected; and such appointee
shall, before he enters upon the duties of his office, execute and
deliver a bond of the same tenor and in like manner, as herein-
before directed.
82. The county commissioners may at any time demand of
said treasurer such further bond, with such further security as
in their judgment the interests of the county may require.
83. The said treasurer shall keep his office open from nine
o'clock in the forenoon until three o'clock in the afternoon each
day in the week, except Sunday.
84. He shall be entitled to such compensation as the county
commissioners may think proper, not exceeding one thousand
dollars per annum.
85. He shall receive and keep and pay over according to the
directions of law or the order of the county commissioners the
proceeds of all taxes levied in said county, and shall keep full
