account of corporeal infirmity, unless he shall obtain from the
surgeon or surgeon's mate of the regiment or battalion to which
he belongs, if any, or if none, from such respectable physician of
the neighborhood or county to which he belongs as the com-
manding officer may name, a certificate of such inability, and
the same be endorsed by said captain or commanding officer.
7. The enrolment and arrangement of the militia of this State
into divisions, brigades, regiments, battalions, squadrons and
companies, as numbered and recorded in the office of the adju-
tant general, shall continue, subject to be altered as provided in
this article.
8. A Major General may call a meeting of the Brigadiers of
his division at some central place therein, and at a convenient
time to be by him appointed, who, or a majority of whom when
so met, may revise and alter the arrangements and bounds of
the several brigades within the division.
9. A Brigadier General may call together the colonels, lieu-
tenant colonels and majors of his brigade at some convenient
time and place to be by him appointed, who, or a majority of
whom when so met, may revise and alter the arrangement and
bounds of their several regiments, battalions and squadrons.
10. The several commanding officers of regiments, extra
battalions and squadrons, shall convene from time to time as
may be necessary, the commanding officers of companies in their
respective regiments, battalions or squadrons, at some convenient
time and place to be by them severally appointed, who, or a
majority of whom when so met, may make any alterations they
may deem necessary in the arrangements and bounds of their
several battalions, squadrons or companies.
11. The said several officers shall respectively report by mail
to the adjutant general, any alteration that may be made in
the bounds and arrangements of their several commands, and
the said report shall be recorded in the office of the Adjutant
General.
12. If the commanding officer of any division, brigade, regi-
ment, battalion, squadron or company shall neglect or refuse to
give order for assembling his command, or the officers thereof,
when thereto lawfully commanded by his superior officer, or at
