11. Any married woman may convey her real or personal
property, if her husband joins in the conveyance, whether the
conveyance be absolute or by way of mortgage, and she may
execute and acknowledge any deed, mortgage or bill of sale in
the same manner as other grantors or bargainers without any
private examination or other ceremony, and she may relinquish
her dower in any real estate by the joint deed of herself and
husband, or by her separate deed.

12. A husband bringing a personal action to recover in right
of his wife after her death, may declare, specially setting forth in
the usual manner, how the debt or right accrued to his wife, and
stating further that by marriage the debt or right devolved
on him.

ARTICLE XLVL
Inebriates.

SEC. 1*. The Maryland Inebriate Asylum is by that name in-
corporated and constituted a body politic and corporate.

2*. For said purpose the said institution shall have power in its
corporate name, to take, purchase and hold real estate in the
State of Maryland and erect thereon a building or buildings
suitable for the purposes of said Asylum, and to take, purchase,
hold and convey such real or personal property as may be neces-
sary or proper to carry out the object of said Asylum: said cor-
poration shall have power to sue and be sued; to make and use
a common seal, and to alter the same at pleasure; and to take
and hold any grant or devise of land or any donation or bequest
of money or other personal property, to be applied to the found-
ing and maintenance of said Asylum.

3*. The property which said corporation may hold and pos-
sess shall not exceed in value the sum of five hundred thousand
dollars.

4*. All the affairs and concerns of said Asylum shall be managed
by and conducted under a board of not more than fifty trustees,
who shall be citizens of the State of Maryland; the said board
of trustees, annually, from their own body, shall proceed to elect
