Gentlemen of the Senate :

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
to appoint a joint special committee of five, (three from this
House and two from the Senate,) to notify the Hon. W. T.
Hamilton that he has been this day duly elected to represent
this State in the United States Senate for six years from and
After the 4th day of March, 1869.

We have appointed on the part of this House Messrs. Mc-
Elroy, Coudy and Beck.
