four sections thereto, and to appoint four new commissioners
in the place of four deceased commissioners.

Also, the bill entitled an Act to repeal the 53d, 54th, 56th,
and 57th sections of Article 19th of the Public Local Law
of Somerset county, relating to fences.

Also, the bill entitled an Act to repeal section 40 of Arti-
cle 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled Frederick
county, and to re-enact the same with amendments :

Severally endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

Also delivered, a bill entitled an Act to authorize Lemuel
Malone to settle his accounts as guardian to Geo. W. Smith,
and to pay over all money due said ward ;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays ;"

Which was read a iirst time, and referred to the Commit-
tee on the Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Wentz, (the rules being suspended,)

Leave was granted to select committee, Messrs. Wentz.

Sanner, Robb, Hammond and Iglehart, to introduce a bill

to incorporate the Broadway and Locust Point Steam Ferry

Company of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Hammond, (the rules being suspended.)
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to pay the late clerk of Anne Arundel county
certain fees due him by the State.

On motion of Mr. Dutrow, (the rules being suspended,)
Ordered, That for the temporary accommodation of the
Superintendent of Agriculture and Labor, that any room
unoccupied at this time in the public buildings at Annapolis
be assigned, and that an amount of stationery equal to that
furnished to a member of the House of Delegates, be allowed
to him by the Librarian ;
Which was adopted.

Mr. Biddison (the rules being suspended) presented the
petition of Ferdinand Freyler, of Third district of Baltimore
county, for return of taxes paid in error ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims

Mr. Smith, of Worcester, (the rules being suspended,
submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the last sentence of the first paragraph o
the Rules of Order, pertaining to the duties of the Chief Clerk
be stricken out;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Syester moved that the House do now adjourn until
Tuesday next, at 12 o'clock, M.

The question being upon concurring in the motion,

Mr. McElroy demanded the yeas and nays.
