So the amendment was rejected.

Mr. Legg submitted the following amendment:

Section 2, line 17, after the word "mortgages" insert the
words, and all property mortgaged shall be exempt from
taxation to the amount of said mortgage.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Coad submitted the following amendment:
Section 23 line 19, strike out the words "all judgments."

Which was rejected.

The bill was then read a second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The time having arrived for taking up the order of the
day,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill
entitled an Act to repeal sections 151, 152, 153 and 154, of
the Code of Public Laws, entitled "Coroners and Inquests
in the City of Baltimore," and to substitute therefor the fol-
lowing.

Said bill being upon its passage.

The bill was then passed by yeas and nays as follows :
