Also,

A bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland to the purchase of land by St.
Paul's Parish, in Prince George's county, not exceeding in
quantity ten acres.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Williams, Chairman of a select committee, reported
favorably

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 57 of Article 16 of
the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to Prince George's
county, and to re-enact the same with amendments and
additional sections.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Clark, Chairman of a select committee, reported
favorably

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 8 of Article 13 of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled " Howard County,"
sub-title " County Commissioners," and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Sudler, Chairman of a select committee, reported
favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Queen Anne's county to levy a sum of
money or to issue bonds for repairing and altering the Court
House in said county.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Legg,
(The rules being suspended,)

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled an
Act to repeal the Act passed 23d of March, 1867, chapter
184, entitled an Act to repeal Article 71 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled " Oys-
ters," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Said bill being upon a third reading,

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, (by unanimous consent,)
submitted the following amendment :

Section 9, line 6, strike out the words " county in which
such appropriation is made," and insert the words State of
Maryland.

Which was adopted.
