open a postage account against each member and officer of
said House of Delegates,

Which was rejected.

Mr. Slingluff submitted the following order as a substi-
tute :

Ordered, That the present system of distributing stamps
be continued,

Which was rejected.

Mr. Blake submitted the following as a substitute :

Ordered, That no member or officer shall receive more
than $50 worth of postage stamps, and that the Postmaster
be required to furnish each member, together with the Chief
Clerk, Recording Clerk and Journal Clerk, with that amount,
the other officers to be supplied with stamps to the amount
of $5.

Mr. Keech moved to lay the whole subject on the table.

Which was decided in the negative.
On motion of Mr. Coad,

The whole subject was recommitted to the select commit-
tee on that subject.

Mr. Seibert, from select committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled an Act to provide tor the better protection of
partridges in Washington county.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. McCulloh, from select committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Cumberland
and Pennsylvania Rail Road Company, passed at January
session 1849, chapter 269.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Bowlus, from select committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled " a Supplement to the Act passed by the Gene-
ral Assembly of Maryland, at January session, 1860, entitled
an Act to incorporate a company to build a turnpike road
from Liberty Town, in Frederick county, to intersect the
Woodsborough and Frederick turnpike road at or near the
Monocacy Bridge, and its supplement, passed at January ses-
sion, 1867, of the General Assembly of Maryland."

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Corbin, Chairman of Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably a bill entitled an Act to make valid certain official
acts of John Miller as a Justice of the Peace of the State of
Maryland in and for Somerset county ;

Which was read a first time.

Also, the Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 29
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, adding
thereto the following sections ;

Which was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Iglehart, Chairman of Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably a bill entitled, an Act entitled an Act to authorize
