and empower the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
county to levy and refund a certain sum of money to Samuel
Redgraves, for county and school taxes erroneously paid by
him ;

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Hopkins, Chairman of Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably the Senate bill entitled an Act to make valid the
official acts of the Justices of the Peace, Constables and Su-
pervisors of the public roads in Wicomico county ;

Which was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 127 of the 4th
Article of the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the
city of Baltimore, and to substitute in lieu thereof the fol-
lowing,

Was read a scond time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend and re-enact section 805
of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the
city of Baltimore, under the sub-title Orphans' Court, being
upon a second reading,

Mr. Pentland submitted the following amendment:

Sec. 1, line 7, strike out the word "four," before the word
"'dollars," and insert the word "three ;"

Which was rejected.

The bill was then read a second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to change the place of voting in
the Fourth Election District of Carroll county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to increase the number of free
scholarships in the Baltimore Female College, and to change
the manner of appointing the beneficiaries and Board of
Trustees,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The hill entitled an Act limiting the number of Justices
of the Peace and Constables in Wicomico county,

Was read a third time and passed, by yeas and nays as
follows:
