Said bill was then returned to the Senate.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor of the
State of Maryland to purchase of the city of Baltimore the
property known as the Baltimore City College, for the use
of the State Normal School, having been read a third time,
and now being upon its passage,

On motion of Mr. Montague,

The vote by which the bill was read a third time, was re-
considered

On motion of Mr. Montague,
The second reading of the bill was reconsidered.

The hill then being upon a second reading,

Mr. Montague submitted the following amendment:

Strike out in section 1 the word "from," in 3d line, and
insert in ; strike out all after "school," in 3d line, to "col-
lege," in 5th line, inclusive, and insert in lieu thereof,
suitable property.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Rose submitted the following amendment:

Section 1, lines 6 and 7, strike out the words "City Reg-
ister of Baltimore city," and insert the words, and the
owner thereof.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Bowlus submitted the following amendment:

Section 2, line 1, strike out the words " forty-five" and
insert the word twenty.
