Chapter 2, line 8, after the word "dollars," insert the
words, provided, he shall properly discharge the duties of
the office to the satisfaction of the Board of Health in the-
city of Baltimore.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Latrobe submitted the following amendment:

Section 4, lines 2 and 3, strike out the words "first day of
January, 1868," and insert the words, date of its pas-
sage.

Which was adopted.

The substitute, as amended,

Was then adopted for the original bill, and

The bill, as amended, read a second time and ordered to-
be engrossed for a third reading.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day,

The House proceeded to the consideration of

The bill entitled an Act to afford protection to persons in
the State of Maryland consigning flour, grain, tobacco and
all other agricultural products to Baltimore city for sale, and
to add the following sections providing therefor, to Article
30, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Crimes
and Punishments."

Said bill being upon a second reading,

On motion of Mr. Iglehart,
(The rules being suspended,)
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and

The House proceeded to the consideration of the regular
business of the morning's session.

Mr. Latrobe, acting Chairman of the Committee on Ways
and Means, reported favorably

A bill entitled an Act making appropriations for the sup-
port of the Government for the year ending the first day of
January, 1870.

Which was read a first time.

Also, favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 25 of Arti-
cle 38 of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to No-
taries Public, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
