832 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 16,.

On motion of Mr. Latrobe,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Latrobe, Sanner, Conway,
Smith of Baltimore city, and Blake, to introduce a bill al-
lowing certain persons to build a pier in connection with the-
State wharf on Light street.

On motion of Mr. Hubbard,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Hubbard, Moore and Legg,
to introduce a bill to make valid the official acts of J. H.
Wallace, of Caroline county, whilst acting as Justice of the
Peace, from May 6th, to the 25th of July, 1867.

On motion of Mr. Legg,

Leave was granted to the Queen Anne's and Caroline dele-
gations, to introduce a bill to regulate the catching of Terra-
pins and Fish in Queen Anne's county.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture, to
report a bill to regulate the freighting commissions for sel-
ling and charges for weighing grain by weight instead of
running measure.

On motion of Mr. Mullin.

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary,
to introduce a bill to make valid the official acts of cer-
tain Constables appointed by the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, elected tinder the present Constitution of the
State of Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Wentz,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the German Permanent Land
and Building Society of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Bond, of Calvert,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions, to
introduce a bill to pay a pension to Jasper Y. Bowen and
Thomas Jones, soldiers of the war of 1812. and also to
Margaret Mackenny and Martha Kirshaw, widows of soldiers
of the war of 1812.

On motion of Mr. Richards,

Leave was granted to the Cecil delegation to report a bill
for the further protection of partridges in Cecil county.

On motion of Mr. Devecmon,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate Sheffer Lodge,
No. 25, Maryland, of the Independent Order of Good Tem-
plars.
