Mr. Colton moved that the House do now adjourn until to-
morrow morning at eleven o'clock.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Wentz submitted the following amendments :

Section 8, line 1, fill the blank with eight thousand ; line
3, strike out "commencing on the;" line 5, strike out
"superintendent," and insert commissioner, and strike out
"but only;" line 6, strike out " except the salary," and
insert for; line 7, strike out "president," and insert
principal; lines 7 and 8, strike out " which shall be paid by
the State Treasurer upon the warrant of the Comptroller in
quarterly instalments; " line 9, strike out "the cost of,"
and insert for ; lines 9 and 10, strike out " shall be charged
to the," and insert and other; line 10, after school, strike
out the remainder of the section.

Which were severally read and adopted.

Mr. Lowe moved that the House do now adjourn until to-
morrow morning at ten o'clock.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Wentz submitted the following amendments :

Page 38, section 4 : Strike out section 4, and insert in lieu
thereof:

Sec. 4. The sessions of the State Normal School shall be
determined by the State Board of Education ; provided, that
the School shall be open for not less than nine months in
each year.

morrow morning at ten o'clock.
