Mr. Syester submitted the following order :

Ordered. That the Committee on Education be requested
to inquire and report to this House whether or not it be ex-
pedient to furnish each public school in the State with a copy
of the large map of Maryland published by Simon J. Marte-
net, and what would be the cost of the same ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Touchstone submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a special committee of five be appointed by
the Speaker of this House, whose duty it shall be to ascer-
tain and report to this House, at as early a day as practica-
ble, what rate per mile the Philadelphia, Wilmington and
Baltimore Railroad Company are allowed, by their charter,
to charge passengers traveling on said road within the limits
of this State, and also to ascertain and. report what dis-
criminations, if any, said company make against way pas-
sengers between the several stations on the line of said road
within the limits of this State, and what discrimination, if
any, said company make in the transmission of way freight
on said road within the limits of this State ; and said com-
mittee shall have power to send for persons and. papers ;

Which was adopted ; and

Messrs. Touchstone, Silver, Richards, Brown, and Bond,
of Baltimore city, were appointed said committee.

Mr. Brown submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the special committee of five, who are
charged with the duty of examining and reporting upon cer-
tain matters pertaining to the Philadelphia and Wilming-
ton and Baltimore Rail Road Company, who now have the
entire control of the prosecution and construction of said
Philadelphia and Baltimore Central Rail Road Company, be
directed to examine and report at as early a Jay as practica-
ble whether said company have in all respects complied with
the terms of their amended, charter, as passed March 19.
1867.

Which was adopted..

Mr. Williams submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary inquire
into the expediency of repealing the 10th Article, Code of
Public General Laws, entitled " Colonization Society," and

report to the House as soon as practicable.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Montague submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee of Ways and Means be re-
quested to inquire into the expediency of so modifying the
Sunday Law as to divert the fines now accruing to the infor-
mer (for a violation of the law) to the public School fund.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Keech submitted the following order:
