Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
amendment :

Strike out all after the word "mentis" in 10th line, sec-
tion 7.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
amendment:

Strike out the 8th section.
Which was rejected.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
amendment:

In the 8th line of the 8th section, strike out the words,
"such actual damage/' and insert treble damages.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Mullin submitted the following amendment :

Section 10, line 2, strike out the word "or," and insert
after the word "amend,' the words or repeal.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city (the rules being suspended)
submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Colton have leave of absence for this
day.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city,

The House, at 10 3/4 o'clock, P. M., adjourned until to-
morrow morning at 10 o'clock.
