lars, hereby appropriated to the Worcester and Somerset
Rail Road shall be used by said road contrary to the origi-
nal appropriation for internal improvements in Worcester
county.

The amendment was adopted, and the bill, as amended,
read a second time.

Mr. Colton, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to Samuel S. Red-
graves, of Anne Arundel county, Md., a certain sum of money
erroneously paid by him into the State Treasury on account
of State taxes.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Iglehart, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably

The bill entitled an Act to repeal the charter or Act of
incorporation of the Locust Point Steam Ferry Company of
Maryland.

Which was read the second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

The House resumed the consideration of the unfinished
business of Friday last,

Being the following order submitted by Mr. Nicolai:

Ordered that the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be authorized and directed to pay to the Sergeant-at-arms of
the House and the parties summoned by an order of this House,
to appear before the committee on fixing the time of labor
in the Cotton Factories of this State, the usual amount of
mileage and per diem.

The question recurring upon the motion submitted by Mr.
Wentz, to refer the order to the Committee on Claims,
It was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Latrobe, acting Chairman of the Committee on Ways
and Means, reported favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to endow the St. Mary's
Female Seminary.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi-
ciary, reported favorably

A bill entitled an Act to repeal the 10th. section of Article
38 of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled Fees, and
re-enact the same with amendments.
