Which was adopted.

Mr. Slingluff submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it he entered on the Journal that Mr.
Slingluff was ahsent on Saturday last on account of a tele-
graphic dispatch ordering his attendance in the Superior
Court, as administrator in a contested will case.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Montague submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted to Mr. Riggs,
of Montgomery county, for four days.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Keech submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that B. F.
Guy was ahsent from this House on Saturday last on urgent
and important private business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. McCulloh submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted to Mr. Trimble
for five days from Friday last.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Colton,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act releasing the right of this
State to a distributive portion of the personal estate of Jas.
O'Hara, deceased, in favor of James W. O'Hara, his only
son and next of kin.

On motion of Mr. Hammond,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Colored Population
to introduce a bill to repeal the 39th section of Article
6th of the Code of Public General Laws relating to negro
apprentices, and to re-enact the same with an amendment.

On motion of Mr. Jones,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Jones, Clark, and Worth-
ington to introduce a bill to divide the first Election Dis-
trict of Howard county, and to form an additional Election
District out of a portion of the same.

On motion of Mr. Dalrymple,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Dalrymple, Bond, of Cal-
vert, and Coad, to introduce a hill to repeal sections 73 and
74 of Article 5 of the Public Local Laws relating to Calvert
county.
