16th Article of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Chancery," relating to divorces, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

Mr. Biddison (the rules being suspended) submitted the
following order:

Ordered, That the State Librarian keep the Library open
from the hours of 2 to 7, P. M., for the accommodation of
Members of the Legislature.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Iglehart, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably a hill entitled an Act to incorporate the
Marine Railway and Manufacturing Company of Havre de
Grace, and to amend the Act of 1867, chapter 211,

Which was read a first time.

Also, reported favorably a hill entitled a supplement to an
Act passed by the General Assembly of Maryland at Janu-
ary Session in 1864, chapter 96, entitled an Act to incorpo-
rate the Liberty and New Windsor Turnpike Road Com-
pany in Frederick and Carroll counties,

Which was read a first time,

Also, a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Washington
County Savings Institution ;

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Wentz, Chairman of the Committee on Education,
reported favorably from a majority of the committee, a bill
entitled an Act to authorize and require the Comptroller to
correct the errors in the distribution of the "Free School
Fund," accruing under the Acts of 1813 and 1816, from the
year 1852 to the year 1867, inclusive, and to pay to Balti-
more city and to Baltimore county the amounts ;

Which was read a first time, and,
On motion of Mr. Coudy,

Ordered to be printed.

Mr. Herbert, from same committee, submitted the follow-
ing minority report:

The undersigned, a minority of the Committee on Educa-
tion, to whom said hill was referred, beg leave to dissent
from said report, for the reason that they do not consider it
the province of said committee to act upon bills of this char-
acter, but would very respectfully suggest that it be referred
to the Committee on Claims, where it properly belongs.

The hour of 12 o'clock M. having arrived,

The House, in accordance with the Act of Congress, chap-
ter 245, entitled an Act to regulate the time and manner of
holding elections for Senators in Congress, proceeded to hold
in election for a Senator to succeed the Hon. Reverdy John-
son in the Congress of the United States.
