Mr. Williams presented the petition of 78 voters of the 7th
Election District of Prince George's county, protesting
against the removal of the polls from Queen Anne to Mitch-
ellsville.

Which was read and referred to the Prince George's del-
egation.

Mr. Guy submitted the following order :

Ordered, That H. Tillard Smith is absent from his seat in
consequence of severe indisposition.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Robb,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore city and Washington
county delegations to introduce a bill to authorize and em-
power the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore and the
County Commissioners of Washington county to waive the
liens acquired by them respectively, under a mortgage here-
tofore executed to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore,
by the Western Maryland Rail Road Company, in trust, to
indemnity the said the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
and the County Commissioners of Washington county, upon
their endorsements respectively upon the second mortgage
bonds of said company.

On motion of Mr. Robb,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the Act incorporating the Western
Maryland Rail Road Company.

On motion of Mr. Markland,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to confer upon the Lochiel Lumber, Mining,
Manufacturing and Improvement Company, of Allegany
county, the authority to erect and maintain a boom or booms,
with piers and necessary appurtenances, upon the Great
Savage River, in Allegany county.

Mr. Nelson, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture,
reported unfavorably

A bill entitled an Act for the benefit of Agriculture by
securing the venders of manures.

The report was adopted.

Mr. Beck, Chairman of a select committee, reported favor-
ably

A bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at the Jan-
uary session, 1868, entitled an Act to amend the 4th section
