TUESDAY, March 3, 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Leech.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Boyer, Beck, Igle-
hart, Deale, Bond, of Calvert, Dalrymple, Mitchell, Chap-
man, NicoJai, Slingluff, Montague, Poteet, Holmes, Rose,
Lowe, Corbin, Horsey, Percy, Johnson, Davis, of Cecil,
Touchstone, Richards, Mearns, Keech, Guy, Williams,
Sudler, Legg, Hollo way, Albaugh, Dutrow, Wenner, Bow-
lus, Byers, Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Brown, Huhbard,
Sanner, Wentz, Robb, Morse, Blake, Latrobe, Pentland,
Bond, of Baltimore city, Colton, Mullin, Chaisty, McElroy,
Harig, Markland, Conway, Syester, Coudy, Rohrer, Seibert,
Riggs, Offutt, Conley, Kean, Trimble, Davis, of Carroll,
Jordan, Worthington, Harden, Fooks, Hopkins—71.

Mr. Touchstone presented the petition of J. H. Rowland
and other citizens of Port Deposit, in Cecil county, praying
that no change be made in the Inspection Laws, so far as re-
gards the inspection of lumber in this State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on In-
spections,

Mr. Nelson presented the petition of the citizens of Balti-
more and Harford counties, directing the Commissioners of
said counties to build a bridge over the Little Gunpowder
Falls, on the road leading from Jarrettsville to Towson-
town.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore and Har-
ford county delegations.

Also,

The petition of citizens of Harford county against the
repeal of the Funeral Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Slingluff presented a petition from 100 citizens of Bal-
timore county, praying the repeal of the charter of the Cal-
verton Turnpike Company.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.
