Which was read.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, moved to lay the order on
the table.

Decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Hall, Chairman of a select committee, reported favor-
ably

A bill entitled an Act to authorize, empower and require
the County Commissioners of Allegany county, to levy a cer-
tain sum of money for Daniel Duncan, late Sheriff of Alle-
gany county.

Which was read a first time.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed January
session, 1865, chapter 130, entitled an Act to provide for the
registration of births, marriages and deaths,

Was read a second time.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, moved to strike out the
enacting clause of the bill.

Decided in the negative.

The bill was then ordered to be engrossed for a third'
reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 2 and 3 of Ar-
ticle 36 of the Code of Public General Laws, title" Estrays,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Being upon a second reading.

Mr. Rose submitted the following amendment :

Strike out "a reasonable time," and insert within fifteen
days.

Which was read.

Mr. Harden submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:

Strike out the word "fifteen" and insert the word five.
Decided in the negative.

The question then recurring upon the amendment sub-
mitted by Mr. Rose,

It was rejected.

Mr. Mitchell submitted the following amendment:
