The next order of the day was then taken up being

The bill entitled an Act to provide for a public Ferry at
Rehoboth in Somerset county,

Said bill being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Smith, of Worcester,

The further consideration thereof was postponed,

And the bill made the order of the day for Wednesday next,
4th of March.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following House
bill, endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays," with proposed
amendments :

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 23 of the first
Article of the Code of Public Local Laws, and re-enact the
same with amendments.

Amendments proposed :

In the second line of the title of the bill after the words
"Local Laws," insert the words "of Allegany county."

Sub-section 23, in 8th line, after the word thereof, insert
"not exceeding one mile from the present limits,'' and strike
out in the 8th line after the word "whenever," the words
"and wherever."
