Which was read a first time.

Mr. Beck, Chairman of a select committee, reported fa-
vorably

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2 of the Act passed
March 13, 1867, chapter 286, entitled an Act to incorporate
the Chesnut River Fruit Packing Company, and to re-enact
the same with an amendment.

Which was read a first time.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to cause to be transcribed a certain
record book of wills, to provide for making a general index
to wills, and for binding the record books in the office of
Register of Wills for Kent county.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Touchstone, Chairman of a select committee, reported
favorably

A bill entitled an Act to repeal certain portions of the Act
of 1860, chapter 303, of the General Assembly of Maryland,
relating to the Columbia and Port Deposit Rail Road Com-
pany.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Rose, Chairman of a select committee, reported favor-
ably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the* Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Talbot county to copy the" General
Index to Land Records in his office from 1833 to 1868,

With proposed amendment.

Amendment proposed:

Section 1, line 2, after the word "Courts" insert the
words " By and with the consent of the County Commission-
ers."

The amendment was adopted,

And the bill as amended read a second time,

And ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Wentz (the rules being suspended,) submitted the fol-
lowing order :

Ordered, That the Chief Clerk of the House be instructed
