Mr. Harden moved that the further consideration of the
whole subject be postponed until Wednesday, April 1st.

Decided in the negative.
On motion of Mr. Devecmon,

The further consideration thereof was postponed and the
majority and minority reports made the order of the day for
Thursday next, 5th of March.

Mr. Biddison, from a select committee, reported favorably

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Chesnut Summit
Avenue company.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

Mr. Marshall submitted the following amendment:

Add as new section 10,

And be it enacted, That this company shall not be author-
ized to charge tolls on any vehicle or horse passing over this
road for the purpose of going to or from a funeral.

Which was adopted.

The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Devecmon, Chairman of a select committee, reported
favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and
Councilmen of the city of Cumberland to purchase in the
limits of said city not exceeding thirty-three acres of land,
to be conveyed to the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road Com-
pany for the purpose of erecting thereon a rolling mill and
other improvements, and to issue bonds to pay for the same.

Which was read a second time, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

Mr. Jordan, from a select committee, reported favorably

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to ap-
point an additional Justice of the Peace for the Eleventh
Election District in Carroll county.

Which was read a first time.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Carroll county to appoint' an additional constable
for the Eleventh District in said county.
