JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 27,

said section so repealed, the following section, relating to
the competency of witnesses and the examination of parties.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

The question recurring upon the amendments proposed by
the Committee on the Judiciary,

Amendments proposed:

Strike out the word " first " in the 1st line of section 1,
and insert the word " second." Strike out section 2d.

The amendments were adopted,

And the bill as amended was then read a second time,

And ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The House then proceeded to the consideration of the un-
favorable report of the Committee on the Judiciary, on

A bill entitled an Act to amend and re-enact sections 1,
2 and 3, of Article 83 of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled Sales and Notices.

The question being upon the adoption of the report,

Mr. Coudy moved to substitute the bill for the unfavorable
report of the committee.

The question being upon concurring in the motion,
Mr. Coudy demanded the yeas and nays.

The demand being sustained, the yeas and nays were called
and appeared as follows :
