So the motion to substitute the bill for the report of the
Committee,

Was decided in the negative.

The question then recurring upon the unfavorable report
of the committee,

It was adopted.

The House then proceeded to the consideration of the next
order of the day, being

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Broadway and
Locust Point Steam Ferry Company of Maryland,

Said bill being upon a second reading.

The question recurring upon the amendment submitted by
Mr. Hammond,

Provided, That this Act shall not be so construed as to
authorize the said company to run the said ferry from the
wharf, commonly known as the County Wharf, or to make
any use of the same for the purposes of this corporation,

The said amendment was rejected.

Mr. Jones submitted the following amendment:

Add at end of section 1, Provided, That the rights
hereby granted to the said company shall not be held to pre-
vent or impair any right which the people of Anne Arundel
county may have to the use of the wharf commonly known as
the county wharf.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Iglehart submitted the following amendment:

Add at end of section 12, Provided, That this Act shall
not be so construed as to authorize the said company to run
the said ferry from the wharf commonly known as the county
wharf, or to make any use of the same for the purposes of
this corporation.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Pentland submitted the following amendment :

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
