THURSDAY, February 27, 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Hatnmond.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Boyer, Beck, Ham-
mond, Iglehart, Deale, Dalrymple, Mitchell, Chapman,
Nicolai, Montague, Poteet, Holmes, Biddison, Rose, Lowe,
Corbin, Horsey, Percy, Stewart, of Dorchester, Johnson,
Davis, of Cecil, Touchstone, Richards, Mearns, Keech, Guy,
Williams, Sudler, Legg, Holloway, Smith, of Worcester,
Albaugh, Wenner, Bowlus, Maynard, Byers, Silver, Nel-
son, Vandiver, Brown, Hubbard, Sanner, Wentz, Robb,
Blake, Latrobe, Pentland, Smith, of Baltimore city, Bond,
of Baltimore city, Colton, Mullin, Chaisty, McElroy, Harig,
Markland, Marshall, Conway, Syester, Coudy, Herbert,
Eohrer, Seibert, Riggs, Offutt, Conley, McCulloh, Kean,
Devecmon, Trimble, Hall, Davis, of Carroll, Jordan, Wor-
thington, Harden, Jones, Fooks, Hopkins—79.

Mr. Hall presented the petition of J. H. Wilson and 50
other citizens of Allegany county, opposed to the repeal of
the Funeral Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Deale presented the petition of E. W. Wartman, D.
A. Owens and 22 others, against the repeal of the Funeral
Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Marshall presented the petition of 50 citizens of Balti-
more county, against the repeal of the Funeral Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Horsey presented the petition of William H. C. Long
and 105 other citizens of Somerset county, praying the pas-
sage of an Act to continue the present school system until
July 15, 1868.

Which, was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.

Mr. Iglehart presented the petition of many citizens of
Baltimore county against the repeal of the Funeral Law.
