534 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 26,

(The rules being suspended,)

The vote by which the bill entitled an Act to repeal sections
28 and 29 oi Article 56 of the Code of Public General Laws,
and to re-enact the same with, amendments so as to read as
follows,

Was ordered to he made the order of the day for Monday
March 2nd,

Was reconsidered, and,

The bill read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following House
bill,

Endorsed, " Passed by yeas and nays:"

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 159 of Article 1 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany county relating
to Sheriffs' fees, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Also delivered the following measage :

BY THE SENATE,

February 26, 1868.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message, proposing the appoint-
ment of a joint select committee, composed of the Senators and
one Member of each Legislative District, of Baltimore city,
to correspond with the Mayor and City Council, of Baltimore,
as to the expediency of providing in the new City Hall, now
in course of erection, suitable rooms for the Governor, to be
called the Executive Department of Maryland, and report
the result of said conference, at as early a day as possible,
and concur therein.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Snyder, Kimmel and Denson.

By order,

A. GASSAWAY,

Secretary.
Which was read.

On motion of Mr. Blake,

At 2 3/4 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned until to-mor-
row morning, at 11 o'clock.
