enlarge or straighten sewers within the limits of the city,
and to provide the means for paying for the same, and com-
pensation for any damage to property holders, caused by the
construction, opening, enlarging or straightening of any
sewer within the limits of the city,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading, and,

On motion of Mr. Pentland,
Ordered to be printed.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore and
Drum Point Rail Road Company,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Montague submitted the following amendment:

Section 13, line 11, alter the word "inhabitants," in-
sert the words, "who are land owners."

Which was adopted.

The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following :

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of
Article 20 of the Code of Public Local Laws for Talbot
county, entitled Almshouse, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Which was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Rose,
Lowe and Johnson.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to release to Win. Watson all the
right and interest of the State of Maryland in and to the
personal estate of Michael M. Mitchell, late of Baltimore
county, deceased.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Baltimore
county delegation.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Meredith
Ford and Jarrettsville Turnpike Company in Baltimore and
Harford counties.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act supplemental to an Act to provide
for the restoration of the records, indexes, dockets and papers
